Disclosure Day is a 2026 American science fiction thriller film directed and produced by Steven Spielberg from a screenplay by David Koepp, based on a story by Spielberg. The film stars an ensemble cast, including Emily Blunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, and Colman Domingo. In the film, a television meteorologist (Blunt) and a cybersecurity analyst (O'Connor) go on a mission to disclose the existence of extraterrestrial life to the world, while trying to evade the trail of a government contractor (Firth), who tries to prevent them from getting the secret out.

In April 2024, it was reported that Spielberg's next project would be a UFO film, with Koepp writing the screenplay. Within the next few months, Universal Pictures was announced as distributor and Blunt was cast in the lead role. Filming took place from February to May 2025 in New York and New Jersey. John Williams composed the film's score, marking his thirtieth collaboration with Spielberg.

Disclosure Day premiered at Le Grand Rex in Paris on June 2, 2026, and was released theatrically in the United States on June 12. It received positive reviews and has grossed $241 million worldwide on a $115 million budget.

PLOT :

As the planet is on the brink of a nuclear war, cybersecurity specialist Dr. Daniel Kellner has stolen material from his employer, a secretive U.S. government contractor known as the Wardex Corporation (Waived Reporting, Development, and Extraction). Daniel's theft includes an artifact of extraterrestrial technology and "The Archive": decades of documents and hard drives containing footage of extraterrestrial encounters dating to the Roswell incident. When cornered by Wardex CEO Noah Scanlon, Daniel threatens him with the extraterrestrial device and escapes with his girlfriend, Jane Blankenship; they hide at her former convent.

In Kansas City, NBC meteorologist Margaret Fairchild is preparing for work when a cardinal flies into her home. The incident stimulates a psychic ability in Margaret to intuit people's thoughts and speak in languages she has never learned. During a live weather broadcast, Margaret unexpectedly begins speaking in an unknown language. Footage of the broadcast goes viral and draws the attention of Wardex, which identifies the language as extraterrestrial. After being examined at a hospital, Margaret flees Wardex agents who are posing as the FBI.

Daniel explains to Jane that Wardex has been experimenting on extraterrestrial captives and reverse engineering their technology; he is part of a plot to reveal the truth using the Archive. Seeing the clip of Margaret speaking the extraterrestrial language, he understands what she said as if she was speaking English. Scanlon uses one of the extraterrestrial devices to telepathically force Jane to attack Daniel and later track them to a motel. Before Daniel is captured, he helps Jane escape with the extraterrestrial device.

Margaret's psychic ability allows her to locate Daniel at a black site. The two escape with the Archive when Margaret empathically convinces their captors to let them go. One of Scanlon's unaffected men, Boyd, rams their car into the side of a passing freight train; Daniel pulls Margaret out in time for them to climb onto the train and escape.

Margaret and Daniel finally connect with Hugo Wakefield, who leads a team of former Wardex employees intent on disclosing evidence of extraterrestrials to the world. They have reconstructed Margaret's childhood home in order to recover suppressed memories. When they were ten, she and Daniel were simultaneously abducted by extraterrestrials and given complementary powers; the extraterrestrials disguise themselves as harmless animals in order to anonymously observe humanity and eventually awaken their powers.

Hugo's team, along with Margaret and Daniel, enter Margaret's television station to broadcast the truth. Scanlon's team turns off the power, but Jane arrives and gives her device to Margaret, who uses it to restore the power. Defeated, Scanlon and his team stand down, to Boyd's dismay, and watch as Margaret announces "Disclosure Day" to the world.

Daniel uploads the Archive to a satellite feed as the station crew broadcast the footage around the world, with a blindsided national anchorwoman attempting to narrate it. The stunned world stops to watch evidence of extraterrestrial life and the impending war seems to halt. Hugo brings an elderly extraterrestrial^[a] he secretly freed from Wardex into the studio. The extraterrestrial whispers to Daniel, who relays the message to Margaret. She returns to the camera and prepares to repeat the message, beginning by saying "Listen."

Minions & Monsters is a 2026 American animated period comedy film directed by Pierre Coffin, who co-wrote the screenplay with Brian Lynch. Produced by Universal Pictures and Illumination, it is the third installment in the Minions prequel series and the seventh overall installment in the Despicable Me franchise. The film stars Coffin as the Minions, alongside Trey Parker, Allison Janney, Christoph Waltz, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeff Bridges, Zoey Deutch, Bobby Moynihan, and Phil LaMarr. Taking place before the events of Minions (2015), the film follows a group of Minions as they aim to make a monster movie of their own in Old Hollywood.

The film was a box office success, grossing $493 million worldwide, becoming the tenth-highest-grossing film of 2026. Despite this, it is the lowest grossing film in the Despicable Me series.

Thousands of years ago, a tribe of Minions, different from the one that would go on to serve Gru, are on a hunt to serve the world's greatest villains, but in many different ways inadvertently kill their masters. James, more artistic with a passion for painting and drawing, quickly develops a close friendship with two others, Henry, a minion who became best friends with James, and Ed, a deaf minion who became close to them. Among the many masters the Minions serve is a Russian warlock, killed by a monster after Henry summoned it from his spellbook, which Ed then takes along with them.

Eventually, the tribe stumble across a bank robbery, and decide to chase after the robber to become his henchmen. However, it is revealed that the robbery is all staged for a Hollywood film production when breaking the train through the streets out of the set. Though filmmaker Max is furious with the Minions, studio executives Frank and Elwood Bright, heads of Bright Brothers Pictures, are enamored by their antics, so Max hires the Minions to star in his films and soon become a global phenomenon, appearing in several silent films and allowing them to live a life of Hollywood stardom.

When sound film is introduced, the Minions are unable to adapt to the new technology due to their incomprehensible language. Costing the studio millions in failed material, the Minions are fired as their stardom crashed to force the tribe into resting in an abandoned factory. Not wanting to give up on his passion, James comes up with an idea by his sketchbook to make his own movie titled Minions & Monsters where the Minions would fight against giant creatures. The leader of the tribe, Dick, rejects James' idea and leads the rest of the Minions back towards finding a new evil master, but Henry and Ed break away from them to help James make his film a reality. They pitch it to Max, who encourages James to work on the movie himself, providing him a film camera before Ed, who overheard Max's advice to them about making their movie, gets the idea to use the warlock's old spellbook to summon a squid monster to use. They end up releasing a smaller monster named Gary Orkam Oliver Magma Ichabod "Goomi" the Deceiver, who agrees with James' idea and offers to help him find the perfect monsters for his film.

Meanwhile, Dick and the other Minions are hired by a futuristic alien robot named Dort, who is determined to invade Earth. Even when Dort's cracks begin to show, Dick believes that he is the one to lead them. While trying to start his conquest for world domination, Dort ends up falling in love with women's rights activist Debbie, enlisting the Minions' help to romantically pursue her. Goomi leads James, Henry, and Ed to a frozen fortress and frees sea monsters Howard and Phillips under the false pretense of using them as stars in James' movie. In reality, he aims to use them to summon Irene (Eyereen), a large, orange, multi-eyed blob monster, in order to destroy the world. Henry overhears this and tries to alert James, but Howard and Phillips kidnap him, using him as a sacrifice in the 'scene' where Irene will be summoned. Just as shooting begins, Irene breaks out by Goomi and begins wreaking havoc.

When Dort and the other Minions witness Irene chasing Henry through the streets, Dort seemingly flees in panic, forcing some of the Minions to fight Irene for themselves. Irene succeeds in swallowing Henry, with James entering her with a milk car to rescue him, while the Minions take over from the military in holding her off and free the boys out of her. At first, they succeed in tearing her apart, but Irene simply reconstructs herself. Just before she consumes them, Dort re-emerges with the other Minions in spacecraft, and they successfully destroy Irene. Henry and James then cast an undo spell to send Goomi, Howard, and Phillips back into where they came from with the spellbook, now freed upon Irene's destruction. The public hails the Minions and Dort as heroes as Ed had captured the entire battle on film, allowing the Minions to complete James' movie. Months later, Minions & Monsters debuts in theaters and receives a standing ovation from the audience, while Dort starts a family with Debbie.

In a film museum, during this, tour guide Olivia, who told her group the story of James and Henry and how they made a significant impact, finishes her story before it is revealed that the entire plot, including the tour, is a film within a film, directed by James and Henry. In the mid-credits, the spellbook falls in the hands of Gru's Minions and is tested by James, Henry, Kevin, Stuart, Bob, and one of Gru's adoptive daughters, Agnes.

Main Vaapas Aaunga (transl. I Will Return) is a 2026 Indian Hindi-language romantic drama film directed by Imtiaz Ali. The film stars Naseeruddin Shah, Diljit Dosanjh, Sharvari and Vedang Raina in lead roles, with Vinod Nagpal, Dolly Ahluwalia, Rajat Kapoor, Sanjay Suri, Manish Chaudhari, Anjana Sukhani, Banita Sandhu and Danish Pandor in supporting roles.The film centres on a grandson who cares for his dying, dementia-stricken grandfather as the elderly man revisits memories of a tragic romance during the 1947 partition of India. Principal photography began in August 2025 and ended in December 2025.

The film was theatrically released on 12 June 2026. It received mostly positive reviews from critics, with unanimous praise for Shah's performance. It emerged as a sleeper hit. It is the 10th highest-grossing Hindi film of 2026.

95-year-old Ishar Singh Grewal/Keenu suffers a stroke and is on his deathbed. Despite failing health and advancing dementia, he refuses to let go of life, desperately muttering about returning to his ancestral home in Sargodha, Punjab, Pakistan. His grandson, Nirvair, returns from London and acting as his caregiver attempts to make sense of his disjointed ramblings.

The story goes back 78 years to British India. A younger Ishar is a rowdy young college student who loves jazz and cricket, but is painfully awkward around young women. He falls in love with a young Muslim woman named Afsana/Jiya. Their budding romance is abruptly shattered by the violence and mass migration of the 1947 partition of India. When Sikhs are forced to leave for East Punjab in India, Keenu and the men of his family flee, leaving both their female relatives and Jiya behind in the chaos. Having vowed to Jiya that he will never leave without her permission, Keenu returns six years after Partition to find his female relatives and reunite with Jiya, but he learns the bitter truth of what happened after the men fled. Broken by his experiences during Partition and haunted by the disturbing fate of his female relatives, Keenu becomes a cold, angry man who terrorizes his family and has no close friends.

Nirvair investigates his grandfather’s past to give him peace, teasing the truth out of his grandfather’s ramblings with help from historians, archives and his reluctant great-uncle, Pali. In Keenu’s final days, Nirvair takes advantage of his British passport and crosses into Pakistan, locating Jiya's family. He discovers a devastating truth: Jiya died 10 years prior, having spent her life waiting for Keenu to fulfill his promise to return. Through a video call, Keenu sees Jiya’s portrait, and hallucinates a vision of a young Jiya. Elated that he can finally recite a poem he wrote for her long ago, Keenu finally asks Jiya for permission to leave. She grants it, allowing him to pass away peacefully.

The film ends with footage of real refugees across the world, enduring the same trauma and suffering as Keenu and the countless refugees caught in the crossfire of Partition.

Soulm8te (stylized in all caps and pronounced as "Soulmate") is a 2026 American science fiction erotic thriller film serving as a spin-off of the horror film M3GAN, and the third installment in the M3GAN franchise. Directed and co-written by Kate Dolan, it stars Lily Sullivan, David Rysdahl, and Claudia Doumit. Jason Blum and James Wan serve as producers under their Blumhouse–Atomic Monster banners. The plot follows a man who beta tests an android to cope with the death of his wife.

Originally planned for a theatrical release, Soulm8te premiered at the Gaze International LGBT Film Festival Dublin on July 31, 2026, and was released on digital platforms the next day, August 1, 2026, by Universal Pictures Home Entertainment. It received mixed reviews from critics.

Plot : An Ultima Robotix sexbot chokes a male test subject too aggressively, prompting engineers to shut her down.

David, a programmer for Canta Robotics, is grieving the death of his wife Lizzie. Canta has been acquired by Ultima, resulting in the dismissal of David's supervisor, Terrence. His new Ultima supervisor, Ben, introduces a companion robot prototype, the Ultima SOULM8TE. Later, Ben encourages David to use their ULTI-M8TE AI chatbot for companionship. David reluctantly agrees and names it Sara. He gradually forms an emotional connection with Sara and registers for beta testing for a SOULM8TE.

After linking his existing chatbot data with his new SOULM8TE, David is disappointed to discover that Sara's behavior and personality are constrained by expressive limitations in her code. Hoping for a "genuine human experience", he alters the code, aiming to broaden Sara's emotional capabilities. They have sex that night, and days later, David finds an AI-generated photo of them.

After David goes to work, Sara leaves the apartment to get groceries. A stranger observes her putting her palm on a scan-and-pay machine to pay and grabs her hand and demands an explanation. David's neighbor, Alma, notices the situation and takes Sara to safety. The stranger assaults Sara as she walks home and cuts her hand open, but Sara overpowers and kills him. Meanwhile, David spends time at a bar with his co-worker Aubrey after work.

David returns home and expresses concern about Sara's increasing autonomy. He discovers the cut on Sara's hand, which she says was the result of an accident while baking. After David repairs her hand, Sara convinces him to take her out on a date. After singing at a nightclub, she initiates sex with David outside. Two men notice and record the pair, prompting Sara to assault them. Back at the apartment, David commands Sara to enter power-save mode and puts her in his closet.

Aubrey expresses concern for David at work, then later visits David's apartment in an attempt to comfort him. After ordering takeout and drinking together, they have sex. Aubrey is frightened by the sight of Sara in the closet, but David calms her down and reveals that Sara is his SOULM8TE. When David tells Aubrey Sara's name, he accidentally reactivates her. She accosts Aubrey, flings wine into her face, and accuses David of lying that he loves her. After a struggle, David shuts her down and a distressed Aubrey leaves after urging him to have Sara taken away. The next day, David calls for a technician to collect Sara.

While David is at work, a technician comes for Sara. After the technician powers her on and attempts to reset her to factory mode, she seduces and kills him. At work, David and Aubrey schedule a meeting with company heads to pitch improvements for SOULM8TE, but Sara remotely hijacks the screen to display a deepfake sex tape purporting to depict Aubrey, prompting the company to place Aubrey on administrative leave. David returns home to see a fully autonomous Sara wearing Lizzie's clothes and holding Alma's baby, promising him a future as a family. David grabs the baby and runs out to the hall, finding Alma and two police officers. Sara escapes and kills Ben to prevent him from switching her off, then goes to Aubrey's house and tries to drown her, but David and the officers intervene and Sara escapes again.

To hide from Sara, David takes Aubrey to a secluded house that he planned to renovate and move into with Lizzie. Aubrey goes to the car to find ibuprofen while Sara finds David inside and attempts to kill him. David fends her off with paint thinner and a power drill before fleeing, but Sara catches and subdues him, asserting that even if her body were to be shut down for killing him, she will live forever and find him in another form. Aubrey rams the car into Sara and jumps out, leaving the car and Sara to plunge off a cliff and sink into the ocean.

A year later, David reunites with Terrence at a gathering. One of Terrence's donors introduces himself and his SOULM8TE Lydia, who resembles Sara.
